THE AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION
It was the ACLU who put Mildred and Richard Loving in touch with attorneys Bernard Cohen and Phil Hirschkop. The ACLU is our nation’s guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country. The ACLU hosted a sold-out screening of The Loving Story at the Capitol in June 2011 and sponsored a panel following the screening of the film at the Tribeca Film Festival. http://www.aclu.org/
